DYNAMICS OF MACHINERY

Dynamics is a branch of physics (specifically classical mechanics) concerned with the study of forces and torques and their effect on motion, as opposed to kinematics, which studies the motion of objects without reference to its causes. Isaac Newton defined the fundamental physical laws which govern dynamics in physics, especially his second law of motion. The laws of motion of the elements of a mechanism are determined from the given characteristics of external forces usingdifferential equations of motion of a mechanical system or of the machine unit, which usually consists of a motor, transmission mechanism, the working machine, and in some cases, a control device. The number of equations is equal to the number of degrees of freedom of the mechanical system.
This post gives a detailed description about the dynamics according to the JNTU syllabus.
